So I applied to Harvard and I sent them my scores. My online file says the following:

Tests Received
SAT-I October 2007
June 2007 *
SAT-II June 2007 U.S. History
June 2007 Literature
June 2005 Ecological Biology

For tests marked with asterisks (*), Harvard has not yet received official score reports from the appropriate testing agencies.

I realized (through the help of a CCer) that this happened because I indicated on the Common App that I had taken the SATI in June of 2007, rather than May of 2007...a silly mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.

Of course, I checked over the common app quite a few times before sending it out, but I guess I figured that I couldn't really make a mistake on this part, and so didn't critique it quite as carefully...

Will Harvard, and all the other colleges I applied to, see this as a big indicator of character or something?

I know I sound paranoid and ridiculous, but I think that these days they are going to use anything to cull that big pile of applications they have...

Just send them an email right away. They are responding fairly quickly right now, probably because they are not innundated yet, so send them an explanation now and you can stop worrying. I honestly don't think this is an issue, but it's worth an email to get yourself the peace of mind.

No, I only made three posts...and the first was only to find out what had happened, so it doesn't really count. The answers I've received were very helpful, and now the problem is solved...so if anyone else feels bothered by my posting, well, there is no need to respond =)

i have a similar issue- on common app i called it the math IIc but on the status page it says it got my math II and there is an asterisk next to the math IIc. when u fixed it did they say it was a problem and fix it or just leave it (trying to figure out if i need to deal with it)

I sent an email on Thursday morning, but assumed that the staff had off for the holiday weekend. I plan on calling tommorow afternoon, unless I receive a response on-line before then.

i know they're the same. the problem is that on my status website it says
January 2007 Math II
January 2007 Math IIC*

so it lists that it got my math II score but is still waiting on my math IIC score even though they are the same. i'm just not sure if i need to bother doing anything about it.

Wait a sec, if they've received your official scores for your subject tests then how did they not get one for your SAT I since collegeboard send all the scores?

Honestly, there's no way that Harvard rejects people for small mistakes like that. You're way too paranoid.

I received a reply from the admissions office today. They said there's no problem, and that the * will not cause the application to be incomplete
