EEK! Essays about financial aid

So. This is the situation.

I'm applying to needs-blind, no-loans schools because I have no money for college. Now, the reason I have no money is because my dad has this incredibly bad heart condition that has kind of destroyed our family's life. In the additional information, I am tempted to write about this, but I'm not sure if I should. On one hand, it has shaped part of who I am. On the other hand, aren't I supposed to make it so they don't know financial stuff because of the whole needs-blind stuff.

I don't know what to do! Any advice on this?

Sorry to hear abt ur dad.

The need-blind stuff means that they wont care how much u can afford, they’ll just take u if ur good… I don’t think u shud write it on the commonapp for financial reasons… im an international applicant, and we have to hand in the ISFAA which has an additional info section. See if the FASFA has a similar section, u can put it there…

Mention the condition in any context that it has affected u in, even if financial, but not to bag aid… I think the aid stuff should be dealt with in the aid forms.
