eFAN Questions

First of all, when will the eFANs be released (if they haven't already)? I think last year they released them by the end of June...

Also, I filed my Fafsa just a couple of days before the March 2 deadline and URSA shows that UCLA received it on the 6th... does that mean I'm f*****?

I don't think you are f%^%& since you DID submit before the deadline. Thats matters more than when UCLA receives the paperwork, which is not really in your hands and in the hands of the people who deal with the fafsa paperwork/data. and yeah WHERE THE HELL IS MY EFAN!!!

eFANs are up.

new stafford lender list. they charge origination fees now.
stafford loan rate now 6.0% instead of 6.8%

Can anyone recommend a good Stafford loan lender, based on experience?

yea.. i wanted to ask that question too.
personal preference on Stafford loan lender and why?

I used AMS which uses Sallie Mae's OpenNet services...it was pretty good in my experience

I used Sallie Mae Education Trust...and it was nice.

I am new to it and I chose Sallie Mae Education Trust.

That's also what I chose, 5% credit back! :D

ok so i did some stuff and now i submitted my offers as undecided. how do i change it to accept?

Call the financial aid office, I'm guessing.

I also have a question. When I accepted my housing offer, I paid a $2500 deposit. However, now when I look at my eFAN, it's for the full tuition I'm supposed to pay. Shouldn't it be for full tuition minus the $2500? Should I just call the Financial Aid Office?

Oh and I'm a bit confused about the 5% credit back with the Sallie Mae Education Trust. Can anyone explain how exactly it works?

Make your payments on time and they credit your account. It's like a thank you "Oh you're responsible... here, let us take a few bucks off your loan as a way of saying thanks."

if we dont accept the stafford loan, but take a parent plus loan, do we still have to take the DMS/entrance exam?

what determines if you get cal grant A or B?

I got B on the eFan, but I'm pretty sure I was supposed to get A.

What happens when you choose a different lender than last year? Thanks

what's the difference between an electronic lender and a "non-electronic" lender? do most people borrow from an electronic lender? thank you!

sorry, and i have another question
when do we have to submit our efans by?

I'm confused. If I'm an incoming freshman, do I click "no" to this question for loan??

2) Are you a current or former UCLA student or UCLA UNEX student who has while attending UCLA or UNEX at the undergraduate student level received:

* a federal loan (such as a Stafford or Perkins)
* a UCLA university/campus-based loan (such as a University or Regents Loan; Health Professions Student Loan or Loan for Disadvantaged Students)?

Click no. You did not receive any loans from UCLA before now.
