i submitted a housing adjustment paper because i wanted to change my housing status. how long will it take for another efan to come?

Did you have to submit a paper form? I changed my status online and it took a week for me to receive the new eFAN.

Wow, none of these questions have been answered... Here we go:

if we dont accept the stafford loan, but take a parent plus loan, do we still have to take the DMS/entrance exam?
First off, why would you take out the Parent PLUS loan when the rate is about 8.5% rather than 6.8% (or whatever the heck it is) and which requires payment after the 6 month grace period? Why would your parents sign it as well? If anything, it's wiser to take the 6.8% and have them pay it off after college... or better, pay it off during college. No clue about the DMS/entrance exam... either way, I highly recommend doing the work necessary to complete it - it's not hard, doesn't take long... and even then, I had to do extensive research about loans from finaid.org etc.

Can't answer Drastic's question.

wahwahwah: Choose the electronic lender. It makes things so much easier! First though, I'd look at the terms and incentives... most likely the rates are the same but the incentives to make your payments on time etc... can mean the difference between Bank of America and Citibank or whatever.

sw3etazngyrl: Call financial aid and ask them to generate a new eFAN. Change your housing then and you should hear about the new eFAN shortly after.

haterofhaters: Call financial aid and ask them to generate a new eFAN for you.

I also have a question. When I accepted my housing offer, I paid a $2500 deposit. However, now when I look at my eFAN, it's for the full tuition I'm supposed to pay. Shouldn't it be for full tuition minus the $2500? Should I just call the Financial Aid Office?
If it's for your full tuition, including your housing, you will just a get a refund when aid is disbursed come Fall. So, you'll get your $2500 back then... assuming you have loans, cancel out $2500 worth of loans.

Oh and I'm a bit confused about the 5% credit back with the Sallie Mae Education Trust. Can anyone explain how exactly it works?

Best way is to just call them and ask a rep to explain.

i submitted the housing adjustment form last month when i called the financial aid office. they said to send it in. when i submitted my efan last week, i thought i didn't have to resend it since they already have it. maybe i should send it again. did they email you with a new efan? did you just say you were living on campus and that's it? you didn't have to send in a housing adjustment form?

I don't know if I have to send in a housing adjustment form or not. I'm a new transfer, so UCLA's process of allocating aid is something I'm continually discovering. I just changed my status from on to off-campus on the first page of the eFAN when I first saw it, and kept checking every weekday until I saw they updated it a week later (sans $3000 in grants).

ohh, i see. so you didn't get an email from them notifying you of a new efan?

No, never did get one.

thanks! i think i'm gonna send in that form tomorrow. and if nothing happens in a week, i'll call.

if work-study is not specifically listed on my eFAN, does that mean I don't qualify for work-study?
