Greetings, I just did the EFC calculation and came up with $35K (Federal methodology) vs. $30K (Institutional Methodology).
I have twins who will go to college in Fall of 2016. How do I record the nr. in FAFSA applic.? I treat them individually (such as 35K for each, total $70) or split the amount between the two? I looked through previous posts, but could not figure out.
Does anyone have twins and applied for FAFSA? Any tips?
Thanks.
(should post in Financial Aid forum)
I am not sure what “record the nr.” means…??? (maybe it’s just early and my brain isn’t awake yet)
I will have twins plus one in college together. When you fill in the info for FAFSA or the college’s individual NPCs it asks for how many in your family will be in college…so it is taking multiple students in college into consideration. The EFC is for the ONE student you are filling it out for. Chances are the EFC will be very similar for the other child(ren), except that the student’s portion of the expected contribution will vary based on her bank accounts/investments.
