EFC is 3782 what does this mean?

If my EFC is 3782 what does this mean, I am new to the financial aid system.. other than federal pell grants what else is out there, I am 33 and my credit is bad so personal loans are out.

Any help would be great... Thanks

B

This means that your expected family contribution (the amount your family is expected to pay for your education) is $3,782. Remember that this number is not set in stone as some colleges do require additional information (CSS profile or their own institutional forms)

uggh I was going to take some classes at western governers online, its like 2700 dollars every 6 months.. so I am going to have to pay most of that out of pocket correct? What other loan programs can I use with bad credit?

If your efc is honestly that high, then you could just pay out of pocket and go part time for a while. Then, while you are going part time you could figure out your finances. I mean, gosh, I am in your age group and my efc is well under one grand. So, kudos to you for having a $teady trade in these harsh economic times.
One thing, those stafford loans and perkins loans are kinda like need based, but if you luck out and qualify for them, they do not check your credit.

why did you not get a pell grant?
