The student should receive an e-mail from FAFSA with EFC after submission.

^ Given the fact that the parent applied for BOTH pins, I seriously doubt the student’s email was included for anything.

What financial package?? there won’t be anything besides meritand a Stafford loan. He May see his EFC when he starts navigating the college website after he has made a decision. Right now all he has looked at is application status for his acceptances. By the time he digs deeper, all the college chatter will be over at high school and amongst the parents. Blech! It can get awkward.
He uses a “college” email that I check and forward important things. He will log on occasionally.
We had to fill it out for certain merit scholarships. He received full tuition at a school that required FAFSA. We also filed because he has a younger brother. We know not to bother with CSS.

Merit aid and direct loans are the aid package.

That Stafford Loan will come in the FA pkg from the school. The merit award will also likely get mentioned.

I certainly hope the parent did not apply for the student’s PIN and complete the FAFSA, as this is fraudulent. In such a case, the student would not be able to do all the things that a student needs a PIN to do … such as entrance counseling and MPN for HIS or HER loans (they do not belong to Dad).
