EFC probably 0

Our EFC will probably be $0 if I am doing the calculations right. This is a dumb question but will the colleges that meet 100% of need just add in a bunch of loans after grants, merid aid or whatever to cover the full cost? He is planning on working some this summer and next to save some money.

I make around $31,000/yer. I have recently started paying $840.00/month in childcare costs for 2 minor grandchildren that are currently living with me. I will not be able to help him in the forseable futue and am concerned about him going heavily into debt to attend the schools he likes. He's bright scored 32 on ACT and wants to go to a school other than our state flagship.

Depends on the school’s financial aid policy. Some schools have recently eliminated loans for families with an income below a certain amount so at those school’s students receive more aid in the form of grants, scholarships, and work-study.

You can easily look up what a school’s average aid package is and how much of that is in loans vs. grants and scholarships.

Also, all the way down on the first page is a really good link that details each school’s financial aid policies.
