So, I haven't been on FAFSA since February and I just got an email about a processed FAFSA. I was REALLY confused because I knew my last FAFSA that was sent got processed. I open the email and something that kind of confused me/concerns me is this...

The Financial Aid Administrator (FAA) at your school has made corrections to your application. If you think you need to make additional corrections, please contact your FAA before doing so.

What school are they referring to? I haven't matriculated anywhere, so I have no idea what they're talking about. What else confuses me is why my EFC went up 2k (I haven't done ANY editing since I last sent it), and why a new FAFSA would be sent to all ten schools. Can someone please help me? Who is the FAA? Why did my EFC randomly go up? And what should I do about it being sent to my schools?

Financial aid officers are obliged to correct any information on FAFSA that they believe to be incorrect. You don’t have to have decided to go to a particular school - any school you sent your FAFSA to can make an adjustment if they believe something is incorrect.

If you go to FAFSA and print off your original and the latest SAR you can go through line by line and compare and see what was changed. If you have any questions about what you find come back and we will see if we can help you make sense of it.

One of the finaid officers that was working with your file must have discovered an error and fixed the error which they can do. Hopefully one of the knowledgeable folks will chime in and tell you how to figure out which college made the change. How many schools did you apply to? Can you compare your current SAR to your original file to spot the change?

Oops cross posted…

Thanks for the help! I figured out what college it was… now I’m going to go through it line by line with my dad to see what’s up.
