EFC Too High/FAFSA Misfiled?

And your EFC is still well over $80,000 a year? Sorry…but that still seems high to me.

But maybe not. The income protection and asset protection for a single parent isn’t very high. But still this seems high to me.

I WOULD expect your EFC per FAFSA to be in the $70,000 a year range…and that’s still more than most colleges cost.

I guess the take away is…with $200,000 in income and a family of two…you would not receive need based aid.

That seems high to me too. Do you have any affordable acceptances?

If you are a family of two…and your father has a $200,000 income…is he willing to help you with college costs?

How much will he pay annually for,you to,attend college.

Are you instate for CA? Will your dad pay for you to attend an UC or Cal state…assuming you got accepted.

@thumper1 I live in NJ and will probably go to UIUC, I’m just interested in seeing my UCSD decision.

Yes, my dad will pay for my whole education, all costs, and above all we have my quality of education at top priority. We just want any assistance in paying for tuition, which I hope is understandable.

You applied no where in NJ? Why?

If you have the costs covered…good…

As you know, you would be full pay in CA.

@thumper1 I applied and was accepted to Rutgers (New Brunswick). I didn’t receive any financial aid for there, either. I applied to 9 schools total across the US.

Well…it sounds like the finances are not an issue…at all, right?

If they were, you would not be attending UIUC as an OOS student.

@ruti1580 - Just want to let you know that I truly admire your careful work toward becoming a competent independent person. The way you and your dad approached the FAFSA task is very good. Both of you now know the process, and if you need to file again in the future, it won’t be a scary strange thing for either of you.

Wishing you all the best with your college admissions!
