so my EFC is around 35k, is Brown going to accept that number or perhaps give me more need aid?

i had heard ivy league schools give more need aid since they have so much endowment money.

also how about the other ivy schools? about the same?

Brown may give less. They may give more. Brown’s not the best school for financial aid. They do their own calculation, which also takes into account that one could refinance one’s home (which frees up money for the present, increasing the contribution). However, they also take into account private secondary school costs, which lower the contribution. Putting that together, Brown said I could afford about $600 less than my EFC, after accounting for my brother, who’s going to a private boarding high school.

HYP are very generous with aid. Brown really isn’t the best school for FA.
