Efc

if one were to use calculators online and get a EFC of 100000 or more does that mean no aid is possible? they say it is CoA - EFC so would it be 180000 for the 4 years - 80000 or 40000-100000 which would be 0 aid.

the EFC is for 1 year, not all 4 years.

I think anyone can qualify for an unsubsidized stafford loan (which would only be 3500 in the freshman year)

You could still get merit aid, but not other government aid like Pell grants, perkins loan

And you should still apply. If you don’t fill out the FAFSA the first year sometimes it means you can’t get aid in future years. Your finances could change. Some schools require the FAFSA to consider you for merit aid.
Yes that means, no aid is possible. You will be offered an unsubsidized Stafford Loan. (meaning that you begin paying interest when you take the loan, not when you graduate).
