Effect of an F and W on transcript

I've taken Calculus 2 in the summer and had to ask for an F grade because it was passed the time to drop the class but I'm taking it over now and I expect to get an A in the class. I had to ask for an F grade because of a family emergency.
Also I'm taking a core class now for music and I'm going to withdraw from this class because I simply cannot give my attention to it with my schedule as I have Organic Chemistry which is a very demanding class, Calculus 2, and French 1, so I was never in good standing with the class to begin with.
I'm in my Sophomore year now and I know for sure that I'm going to be applying to graduate school when the time comes and I wanted to know if having an F and a W on your transcript significantly affects my chances even though the W is from a class that has nothing to do with my major (Chemistry/Biochemistry) in any way and I have a legitimate reason for the F?

Don’t panic, but do a better job with timing and your schedule planning and in the next couple of years show with your success in classes, that those two marks are an anomaly and do not represent your abilities and that whatever lesson you had to learn, you figured it out and moved on to strong success
