<p>I have come to learn that sometimes, where you are from can have a big impact on your chances of admission to a college. For those students who are now finding they have been rejected, please don't forget this. If you are from State A, and the college is in State A, they may have admitted enough State A residents, and be looking for State Z admits, or Foreign country B admits. Your "rejection" could have absolutely nothing do to with your qualifications as a student! Colleges look to have students from as many of the 50 states, etc, as they can...it's just another part of the whole "game".</p>

<p>It really depends on the admissions policies and practices of the school, but being from a state, area, or country that doesn’t have a lot of applicants to the school in question can indeed help.</p>
<p>It doesn’t make a huge impact in most cases.</p>
