Effective Sept. 3

I changed my meal plan to the 19, but according to NYUHome....it says that it is effective Sept. 3.....does that mean, i have a 14 meal plan until that day, or no plan at all?....Will I have to buy my own food? Anyone else get this/notice this? And does anyone know what it means?

Thanks

I did exactly as you did, read what you read, and am now wondering what you're wondering.

I'm thinking it means we have the 14-meal plan until September 3rd because we ARE paying for the entire meal plan, which has a contract that runs from a certain date to a certain date. If we're being cut short a week, then we're getting a whole 14/19 meals short of what we should be getting for what we're paying.

Before Spet 3 is all the welcome weeks activities, I think most of them provide food, so it should be pretty easy to get food if we don't have any meal plans going yet.

so technically we dont have meal plans until the 3rd or not? what's the deal? I'm sure, esp since i have orientation with stern the whole week...but i jus want to make sure what the deal is....i'm sure other ppl identify...

your meal plan will work during welcome week. don't sweat it.

ok....nightboy.....but i'm just curious....i mean...i dont really need 19 a week...b/c my breakfast will usually never be had at a dining hall....a coffee and muffin will suffice, lol...or the quintessential pop-tart/ cereal bar...

it doesnt matter. your meal plan reloads on sunday, regardless of how many meals you use. also, note that there are 4 dining times throughout the day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and my personal favorite, late-night. search my posts, i made a comprehensive list of the best dining halls imo and meal plan info some time ago.

according to this aforementioned post, you did not pick the right meal plan. lol.

i checked it out....and those hours fit my schedule fine....i can always adjust if i need to next semester....i'm planning on using declining dollars for lunch anyway....the bigger flex plans are more expensive anyway....but the 14 meal is a waste

I'm more worried about how we pay. Do we get a refund if our changed plan was less or what?

Yea, we will. When I took my insurance off it took about three or so days for it to show up on my account summary, so I'm assuming it will take approx. the same amount of time for our meal plan to change on the account. If not, then it should by Sept. 3 and our account will probably be refunded and that money will go toward payments for your second semester.

lindseygs-- how did you take the insurance off?

there is a thread on here that tells you (because i don't remember). just search the next couple of pages
