i swear, everytime I see something like a 3.79 (which is respectable), i kinda find myself thinking "ahhhh, what happened?" or instead of thinking "1500 outta 1600, wow...", i go "ahhh, what a curve" or "you lost 100 points, you could've done better".... does anyone catch themselves being dorks/losers like that while reading posts or at school? lol... i tell ya.... CC is something....

Yeah, but I've been doing it before meeting CC.

mine started with cc too. I definitely started thinking of 1500 as a low score, which is ridiculous. but it's mainly test scores that I do that on. gpa i'm much more lenient.

becuz of CC, no extracurricular impresses or surprises me.

Haha, I second that wrathofgod.

Yeah, same as wrath.....

Perfect SATs, GPAs, 20+ APs, Olympiad winners, research comp. winners......it's all here

Since I've been using CC I've noticed that more kids than ever are missing out on their childhood and taking on more responsibility than most adults.

ive been getting ready for college since like 8th grade so cc hasnt taken much of a toll on me, ive read through all the stats over and over for like the top 400 schools and i know most of the stuff on cc isnt typical... although some of the ec's make me feel sorry for these kids

I'm sure for all you spectacular students you think these things, but I think it's main effect on me is very minimal. Even though I'm on here a lot more than other people, cc hasn't crept into my essence. :)

CC definitely taught me many things about the college admissions process. Seeing all these very intelligent people and their stats has also motivated me to try harder. Thank you CC!

CC is very humbling....

without CC i would be Soooo lost and unprepared for the college admissions process. thank you all!

CC has made me realize that most everyone else is in the same boat. Before coming to CC, I didn't really entertain the thought of attending an Ivy. However, seeing that many people with similar stats and problems and lives are applying is reassuring. There are super-geniuses out there that happen to be gold medalists, but in the end there are more normal (and my normal I mean slightly dorky) people than freaks on this board. Plus its a lot of fun.

I never knew could have such amazing stats. At our school, taking a couple of APs, balancing a couple of sports, and maintaining a 3.5+ GPA is already impressive. It has definitely motivated me to try harder. I really wish I found CC before I entered high school. I never knew it was so competitive (Sad, I know.). No one at my school really impresses me anymore. When someone's like WOW! I'm always like, well at other schools they ____ to my friends now. Haha.
