Effects of Crowded Dorm Room on Freshmen?

i would say it would increase conflict between roommates. it’s easier to get along with someone when you have more of your own space.

I agree with clay soul

this can go completely in either direction…my freshman year i was in a hall with almost all forced triples and when i first saw the room i thought it would be terrible but now i look back on it as the best experience of my life. even though i no longer go to that school my best friends are my 2 roommates and the guys that lived on my floor. it was because we were forced to coexist, instead of a residency hall with a bunch of forced triples it was more like a big apartment with 100s of rooms. cause like someone else said, the doors were constantly open and everyone was constantly hanging out.

for me this was a plus but for some it is actually the problem. as long as you can get along with the people and accept that maybe the library and the common room are better places to study then your own dorm then it can be a huge positive as far as meeting new people and making new friends.
