Our Costco has been out of eggs regularly the past few months, including that giant 96 pack. When they are in stock, purchases are limited to two.
Just amazes me that the 800lb-gorilla of purchasing power regularly runs out of eggs.
I looked yesterday at Walmart and Iād say they were about 75-80% out of stock. Prices are down to $4.56 from $7.26, but I didnāt need any. Hope they keep coming down!
I agree! Other than during the early months of CV, it is rare to see Costco out of stock. Random produce will disappear at times also, but never eggs.
A few weeks ago our Costco had not one single egg in the store. And didnāt expect a shipment for at least 3 days. It wasnāt like they were out of them for the day.
Not eggs, pardon the hijack, but we very often cannot find distilled water for wifeās CPAP. Have to hunt all over town.
We return this thread to its original discussion of egg prices and shortages
Lots of eggs at our Costco in Michigan. 6.99 for 2 dozen. 7.99 for brown. I bought the white.
This egg issue is so weird. i have never had any problem finding them; shelves are as full as usual. And havenāt noticed a price change.
OTOH, agree with @MADad --often have trouble finding distilled water for Hās CPAP. But thatās always been true since he got it seven years ago.
Thanks for the reply @garland --dear wife has had the CPAP for a little over a year, so we assumed the distilled water issue was a COVID supply chain thing.
Our Walmart always has gallons of distilled water. Try Walmart if there is one near you.
$2.99 a dozen for eggs at Aldi yesterday! And they had a lot.
Thanks for posting that! Last week they were 4.99/dozen at our local Aldi. Iāll have to drive out to the store tomorrow to see if the price has gone down here, too.
I know. I was surprised!
$3.26/dozen at our local Aldi today. Thatās 27.2 cents each.
Still better than it was last week.
At Walmart, the 18 brown-shell store brand eggs that were $7.14 the last time I bought them were $6.12 today. Thatās 34 cents each.
Ours were down to $3.09/dozen at Walmart, which is betterā¦
but up until last fall, I was averaging 66 cents-$1.00/dozen at Aldi. I have been buying 6-7cents/egg for so many years that 26 cents still seems really high.
Take any price drop as a win! They arenāt going to bottom out in price overnight.
Making German eggs with Mustard at DHās request, for dinner on Thursday, after he saw them mentioned in a TV show. The internet recipes call it a low budget recipeā¦
2 dozen Eggland for $6.19 @Giant.
I had to look this up!!! Is this what youāre making @stradmom???
@abasket thatās the one - Iāll post an update after dinner on Thursday.
