worked last summer as a technician at ( Matrix Industries ).

i am applying for computer science... do i have a chance or what?

I was going to Apply to schools in the UK and I am an IB student, so I know about A Levels etc. from another forum.

You have very very good scores- seriously, you could even get into Imperial, UCL, Cambridge with those.

Your ECs certainly show a passion for Computer Science.
Do you speak Arabic? Because you are Egyptian that should give you an advantage- you would be able to communicate effectively.

I think you have an excellent shot at NYU Abu Dhabi.

The thing about NYU Abu Dhabi is that they’re going to pick the most diverse set of candidates possible for their first graduating class. That being said, you do have a good chance, mainly because you’re an international student that does have excellent grades and a specific passion. The number of students admitted will be very small however, but I’m fairly sure you will at least get into NYU’s regular school (US students applied to NYU and selected to be considered for NYU Abu Dhabi. I’m not sure if it’s the same for international)

Abu Dhabi is going to be a TINY class of students (100 total?). Try the NYU boards, there are a couple of Abu Dhabi threads on there. It’s hard for many of us to look at your stats and guess, since we don’t have the same testing/grades. If you’re a top student, you stand a great chance. Good luck.

@ R124687
well i can breifly tell u what do these grades mean to give you a view of what i have achieved

A* = 100 %
A = 95 %
B = 85%
C = 67.5 %
and of course D is a failure

as for the AS subjects A is the highest mark that can be given which also means 100 %

i think you can at least guess by now also i forgot to tell you that i got 3rd rank on my entire country in our national swimming competition andi have been honoured by our federation and the president of our club in a big ceremony which was streamed live on tv !! (they gave me 2 honour shields i dont know if you get this but this is something very honorable in my country)
i also had like many certificates from my school for my high academic achievment and i by many i mean DAM MANY like 30 + certificate ) !!!

lol…i didnt mean to be cocky or something i just wanted to write what i accomplished
sorry if i showed you any cockiness but i asure u thats not me :)

i don’t know your chances but what i can tell you is that its really hard to get in because the class is really small. most of the class are snobby rich kids.

ok guys to give you a more better view of my system its a british one where we have grades according to our scores on the exams we are obliged to take 8 olevels (from my choice ) and 2 AS subjects (AS = Advanced studies) in any fields we choose . look above again and read what grades mean in percentage and as for a GPA we dont have such thing calculated but i asked an american teacher who told me that i have like a 3.9 gpa from 4.0 scale ?
thats all :D

THEDASHASH, I’m am also Egyptian, but I’m not appying as a international student.
I tink you have a high chance of acceptance, your grades are great, and so are your EC’s. Colleges here also know that international schools are much more difficult than American schools, so that should help.

btw, would you mind chancing me back?
