ehh, SAT.

how important is the SAT in brown admissions? i have a 750CR, 660M, 730W (1410/2140) but that is below the majority of the students … i have a lot of ec’s and was just wondering how much the SATs are emphasized in admissions as i am thinking seriously of brown. thanks!

Go to the Brown website and check the different score ranges in which students have been admitted. You'll get an idea.

I don't believe Brown places as much emphasis on standardized test scores as do other schools of its caliber. I mean, I guess your scores could be higher, but they're certainly within range of acceptance assuming everything else looks good. I wouldn't worry too much about it. My scores were nearly identical to yours and I got in RD

As I already posted on another Brown thread, SATs are a lot more important now than they were just two years ago. Admissions is looking for 700+. Not sure what to say about the under-700 math score balanced by the 700+ CR score. This information comes straight from the admissions office.

I just posted in the other forum, but I'll reply here too. My SAT scores were all sub-700, and I got into Brown this year. I am only one example, and don't know what influenced their decision, but don't give up hope if your scores aren't super amazing.

SCOREEE!!! haha this thread makes me very happy.

i'm applying to brown ed, binding, and the sat is one facet that certainly will not make me shine.
