EKK...Reading Section!

how many passages do i read every day? well, i’m not too big on reading (probably why i did poorly on the reading section on my first 3 ACTs)… i spent about 30 minutes to an hour a day going through a reading section and then analyzing my answers.. so 4 passages a day pretty much

Just keep practicing.

I started out with reading scores around 23. After only about a week of study (but a considerable amount of time, i’d say about 15 hours in just that week) my score jumped to about 30-32. Although that score isn’t the best, it really helps my composite because I’m more math/science.

But what I found is that the more I did practiced test, the more I was able to kind of predict the questions while I read the passage. And so as I read, I was able to make mental notes/write notes down of certain specifics so if the question did come up, I could go straight back to it.

Also, Peytoncline in an earlier post you said that you try to read the passages as fast as you could and don’t think about it. To be honest, I don’t think that’s a great idea. When I first started, it would take me about 50 minutes to do a reading test. But I started from the beginning - slow and just trying to answer the questions. Gradually, I was able to pick up more and more information on my first read.

Just keep practicing. It helped me…
