<p>On the Common App, in the Writing section it asks you to elaborate on a specific extracurricular activity, but says it has a 1000 character maximum. </p>
<p>Does anyone know if this character maximum includes spaces or not? For example, what I have prepared for the answer now has 977 characters with no spaces, but 1,164 with spaces. I'm assuming they mean with spaces since they most likely have limited space for this writing portion, but just wanted to double check before I go and change what I already have done.</p>
