ELC anyone?

Did those that qualify already receive their confirmation letter or w/e? (if not.. when does it usually arrive)?

I'm talking about the UC ELC

i have not gotten any word about ELC, except that I may be a qualifier.

haven't gotten anything except that.

what aobut you?

I've recieved nothing =-/.

https://www.ucelc.org/ucschoolstatus/school_status_search.htm

you can check the site above to see if they have even processed your school yet....

I've got nothing from them so far. I went to the link bluebayou provided and it says Received but in Special Handling.
Then under Special Handling Reason(s) it says
Transcripts illegible/missing
Mismatch between roster and transcripts
Missing information in transcripts

I'm starting to get worried.

What does this status mean? It is from the web link to UC ELC school status.

it means that the processing has been completed by UC. Next step is to send a letter to your school, and letters home follow a few days after the GC letter. Typically, all letters go out within 10 business days after the "Final Processed" notice is posted.

I received mine almost two weeks ago!
Now I just have to wait for them to send me my PIN # and I can go finish the remainder of my app starting Oct 1st.

So out of the "requested" .. and the received.. how many are sent out?

BTW... I dont understand how it all works.. if you only apply to one UC.. and you dont get in.. you pretty much get screwed out of your ELC (so I take it you have to apply to a couple of uc's?)

There are no specific "numbers" sent out...top 4% per HS is elc including all ties, based on UC's calculation of your gpa.

elc only guarantees you admission to a UC, but not necessarily your first, second or third choice. Last year, according to the UCOP website, the guarantee schools were SB (which was hard to believe) and Merced. Over the past few years, UCI has accepted all elc applicants under its comprehensive review program, but it was not a "guarantee" campus.

I'm not sure how many is sent out. If you sign up for only one UC and dont get into that one, other UC's will send you a letter letting you know that you can apply there/ accept you.

If what you guys are saying is true.. then basically ELC at least means you will get into ONE college.. (kind of like a safety?.. but not of your choice.. either way.. I've visited most UC's and really wouldnt mind having to attend any of the "lower" uc's).

Technically (with ELC) I could just apply to my top UC choices.. and I would still be guaranteed a spot at a UC in general (even if it's one I did not apply to?).

i didnt make the cutoff, damn my tied ranking. im in the lower top 4% 16/341. The letter is deceiving too, I thought I got it when it was a fat envelope and the first line is "it is my pleasure to invite you to apply to the university of california," but then it said i didnt make it.

Anyone know if my assumption are accurate or not?

im not positive, but I know you have guaranteed admission to one UC, i dont think think they have chosen which one yet, but all I know is that admit rates for ELC applicants is in the 90% range for all UC's santa barbara and under. SD is 88%, LA is 50%, and Cal is 60 something percent, so the admit rates for your choice UC is higher, but I think the guaranteed UC is like.. santa cruz or something.

I received my ELC status notification about three weeks ago.
But I haven't received my PIN# yet!!!

I am having the same problem as cy_sunset. However, I guess that this isn't too much to worry over yet since the opening date for the webiste got moved from Oct 1st to Oct 3rd.
