I just recieved a letter saying " dear ____, I am writing to follow up on my invitation to you to apply to the University of California this fall. About a week ago, you should have received a letter reporting the results of your evaluation for the ELC program. In that letter, we provided a user name for you to access a personalized admissions application."

It proceeds to give me a pin and an elc identification number.

The thing is that i didnt receive any letter before this saying I qualified?
Did anyone else receive anything like this?

Hmm, then something must've went wrong, but you are an ELC applicant. Are you in the top 4% of your high school? You should have received guaranteed acceptance from some of the UC schools by now (many have gotten it from UCD, UCSB, UCM, and "suggested" UCSD). I'd call the number and ask about it, though.

yeah i got guarantees from UCD, UCSB, and UCM too. UCSD wants me to apply.

but my heart is with Hopkins. haha

I don't know I'm kind of getting scared now. I'm in ELC, but I haven't gotten any guarantee letters for the middle tier/lower tier UCs

My friend got it and is most definitely not ELC elligible because she has good grades but she's not in the top 4% of the class. She's perhaps top 10%.

I believe it means that you're ELC elligible but you may not be ELC, sorry to burst your bubble. I don't mean to.
