Do you have to have your fine arts requirement done by 11th grade to be elligible for ELC…Or can you take it 12th grade and still be elligible???

you can take it 12th grade...thats what i did and i was ELC

ELC doesn't really matter anyways especially at the upper and middle tier UC's.

I dont quite agree with that. Because the UC's dont look at class rank, this is kinda a way to see if an applicant is at the top of his class. If the student is ELC, that shows he is a superior student compared to his peers at school. ELC can be VERY helpful.

Yeah I think ELC is somewhat helpful at all the UCs. How much exactly? Idunno.

last year the four elc guarantee schools were Irvine, Santa Barbara, Riverside and Merced. ELC students have a 60% acceptance rate at Cal and UCLA, not bcos of elc designation, but bcos of the strong transcript that earned the elc designation.

For ELC, do they send you a letter that says which school you are guaranteed?

no, they do not. The letter just says your are elc eligible, and that you need to apply and take the SAT/ACT and two subject tests. The letter doesn't even list the 'guarantee' schools; you can call and ask. But, just remember, elc only means guaranteed admission to a campus, not necessarily the one your choose or prefer.

Since UCI is still growing, it has accepted 100% of elc eligible applicants over the past few years, and will likely continue to do so in the near future. But, not sure about SB (assuming they are a even guarantee school this year).
