not quite sure where to post this so sorry if it's in the wrong place, but..

Since I qualified for the ELC, i received a letter in the mail saying i"m guaranteed admission into UCSB...a bunch of my friends also got guaranteed into SB. I was just wondering, is it SB for all ELC people? If not, how do they decide who gets where?
Thanks!

Last year, I got into the ELc and my friends and I all got UCI.. I've been wondering about how it's chosen also (even though I'm already in college haha)

As far as I know, if you get ELC you're more or less guaranteed admission to UC Merced, UCR, UCI, and UCSB. Possibly even UC Davis and UCSD. I mean, there's a chance that you won't get in, but odds are in your favor.

Last year, I got letters from Merced, Irvine, UCSB, and UCSD.

Last year SB was one of the elc "guarantee" schools, along with Riverside and Merced. It's entirely possible that it is one of the "guarantee" schools again this year. The non-guarantee campuses consider elc under comprehensive review and accept 90% of elc apps (San Diego) or 99% of elc apps (everyone but Cal, UCLA and SD).

Cal and UCLA accept ~60% of elc apps, but it's really not a consideration by those two under comp review.

ELC definately didn't gurantee UCSD last year cuz I was in ELC and didn't get into UCSD lol... but just by having ELC status you should be having a good shot at those colleges with your grades anyway even if ELC didn't exist

^That's because both the number of campuses and the types of campuses may not be the same for everyone. I know of friends/relatives that got it for UCSD as well last year

I posted that UCSD accepts 90% of elc apps, not 100%. Even Merced does not accept 100% of elc. [Some kids fail to take the subject tests and are disqualified.]

well I did get a letter from UCSD telling me about ELC status, but the only school that explicitly said they gurantee admission when you apply is UCI
