ELC Question

So I got a letter today regarding my eligibility in the local context from UCSD.

I've received three others (UCSB, UC Davis, UC Merced), but this one from UCSD is a little bit more ambiguous as to the terms of my eligibility.

In all the other three, they've made it clear that if I apply, I am guaranteed a spot in their respective colleges, but UCSD only sort of alludes to it.

If anyone could tell me if this letter from UCSD is actually telling me I'm guaranteed a spot like the other three (or if it isn't), then I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering when you got your UC Davis letter? So far I've only recieved UCSB, UCM, and UCSD. I've recieved the letter from UCSD and I also agree with you that the letter is a bit vague.

I actually got my UC Davis letter today, the same day I got my UCSD.

I agree with you. The ELC UCSD letter did sound a bit ambiguous. I guess you could always call and confirm!

The UCSD letter did NOT guarantee admission like the UCSB and UCD letters. I asked an admissions counselor after my tour there and she said that UCSD, UCLA, and UCB don't guarantee admission due to ELC, but 80% of ELC applicants are accepted there.

I know for sure that UCLA and UC Berkeley do not guarantee admissions to ELC. I'm ELC too. I got letters from Merced, Santa Barbara, Davis, and Riverside. I believe I've gotten one from Irvine too but I'm not sure since I usually throw these out.

I'm applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UC San Diego hopefully as my safety. I'm pretty sure as ELC students, we have a higher chance of getting in, at least that's what my college counselor and school counselors have said.
