I just got a letter from my counselor about ELC for the UC system…what does it do for you?
I guess there’s no harm in going ahead with it, but I want to know what I’m getting into.

<p>It's very good. Do it. It shows the UC system that you have a high GPA and that you are one of the top students of your school. It helps you get into UC schools.</p>

<p>yeah definite authorize it... elc acceptance rate for UCI is like 99%, no joke</p>
<p>theres no way it can do anything but help(UC will probably take you over someone not ELC because it appears as there supporting the program</p>
<p>Even if you have low sat scores, if you get ELC you'll probably get into every UC with the exception of UCB and UCLA.</p>

Although, I'm still not clear, liek0806, does ELC not help me at all w/ Cal or LA? I live in Irvine; hence, not really fond of UCI...so I'm probably only going to apply to Cal next year. Is it worthless then?</p>
<p>It boosts your chances. ELC students have a higher admit rate into the top UC's (although not guaranteed or anything).</p>
