Okay, so I've been on the UC Application and I'm a little confused. I was told that elective classes like Band and Drama, classes that aren't exactly academic but still are worth a grade, aren't included when factoring in UC GPA. However, on the application, they ask you to put down ALL classes you got a grade for on your transcript. Even the electives. I find this stupid because all those 4.0s from those classes (I took 3 of for all of high school) bring down your GPA and they aren't even academic! So can someone answer me, is this really how they do things? Do these courses bring down your GPA despite getting A's in them? How do these classes factor into determining your final GPA?
