electives

im in 2 courses for an elective, each a semester long.

the first one will be done soon since 2nd semester is approaching, and i got an A for the 1st semester.

Im thinking of switching my 2nd semester course class from business mng. to like film study or creative writing.

My question is how much do colleges care about non AP electives.

just do what you enjoy!!!

All I can tell you for sure is that colleges prefer academic electives to non-academic ones (such as PE, TA, etc.), though they also like to see students who pursue a passion, whether it be academic or non-academic. If you're passionate about (or involved in, or interested in) filmmaking or something similar, then a film studies class would be a suitable elective. Same for creative writing. If you really don't care for business management (I assume that's what "mng" stands for), or would really prefer film studies or creative writing, then by all means switch. Colleges will look more favorably on that than they would on you slogging through a course that doesn't interest or inspire you.

Colleges also like to see you challenge yourself. AP classes are considered proof of you challenging yourself. However, again, if taking an AP class would mean you being bored to tears and possibly not being the caliber of student that you want colleges to know you are... then don't do it. Colleges would like see you being true to your "passion," rather than just packing your transcript with APs--exactly like they prefer to see you studying because you love to learn, rather than just to get the grade.
