Electrical and Electronics Engineering? Difference?

I've been asking a lot of questions lately and doing research too, but I just can't find a topic on differences between the two.

There are some schools that offers a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering while others offer separate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering. I've read that Electrical Eng. deals with the high voltage equipments while Electronics like it's name handles lower power stuff (e.g., pc, pda, ipod). So why are some schools offering separate degree and some having a single degree w/ both fields on paper? Will one take longer than the other?

Different schools call different degrees different things. You have to analyze each school’s program on a case by case basis.

I agree with what PurdueEE says.

But in my mind, Electronics engineering sounds more like a technical degree rather than a professional degree.
