Can anyone post the usnews electrical engineering ratings? Should those ratings have a big weight on my college decision?
I heard that usnews ratings are completely bogus. Is this true?

The rankings are ok for getting a general idea of good schools, and there is a definite difference between say #20 and #1, but much less than that there is little difference. It's more of a factor of, is the college a good fit for you?

For EE, if you prefer medium/slightly bigger sized schools, I recommend going to Michigan, Cornell, UIUC, MIT, Cal-tech, Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton, and CMU.

For smaller sized schools, I recommend Rose-hulman, cooper union, harvey mudd, bucknell, rice.

Actually, despite its many flaws, the USNWR subject rankings are usually pretty accurate since they are determined by experts in their respective fields. But where people go wrong is in assuming that there is a clear difference between #4 and #14. Or between #7 and #21. There are so many awesome programs in most major fields of study, including EE, that there is virtually no difference once you are looking at the top 20 or so programs.

Thanks for the input guys.
Can you do me once last favor and post ratings for computer science, I'm still deciding between the two.

I agree with Alexandre, but I would extend it down much further than #20. There are many great programs in the top #100.
