Anyone know anything about the TAMU EET (Texas A&M Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Technology) program?

How is it compared to the EE at Texas A&M, or EET at Purdue or ET at University of Houston?

anyone? help guys!

Hi Xuyi,
I can not help you with knowledge related to the TAMU EET program, however; I do attend Purdue, South Bend Campus, and have been in both the engineering and technology programs. Started in engineering and found it too dull and went to engineering technology.

Each course is comprised of two 1.75hr lectures and a 2-3 hour lab each week. The main difference between the programs is that EE takes exactly 3 more math courses than EET usually comprising of Multivariate Calculus, a Differential Equations course, and a Linear Algebra Course. An EE will also have 2 more core science courses (usually Chemistry I and Biology I). There is a slight difference in the material learned, but for the most part it is the same. Where you would make yourself distinct would be in which ECET or ECE electives you take.

Hope this helps answer your question.

P.S. If you are interested in pay, an EET usually starts out at about $3k less than an EE. But since you are in the upper 50’s/ lower 60’s it’s not really an issue.

Thanks for the response!
