Hello, I’m currently a undergrad in Electrical Engineering, I went in interested in AI, biomedical applications and control systems. Problem is I’m having difficulty keeping up with the pace of my electrical courses and I’m having difficulty understanding topics, which never happened to me in high school nor in my freshman year.
I’m considering switching majors to save myself from losing my full ride but I would like to know possible options as I would still like to work in the same fields. Now I’m not saying neuroscience is easier but in high school I took AP science courses without having to give much thought to what I was doing as it came a bit more naturally to me. Engineering courses on the other hand have proven to be the opposite as I find myself spending more time on assignments than my classmates and I have less work to show for it.
So, I’ve looked at neuroscience and biology as possible options but I’m wondering what paths I could take with them. My GPA isn’t stellar so idk if switching majors would make me appealing to med schools. I’m used to being told by engineering faculty that engineering will guarantee me a job after graduation, my current job is STEM related but I was mostly hired because of a recommendation from an engineering professor. What jobs are available if I switch and will my background in engineering be useful?
