Electrical Engineering Transfer Cons and Pros Plz

Hey guys. I'm currently enrolled in UC Davis as an electrical engineering major and I was planning to transfer to another school. I was thinking somewhere like UCLA USC Cal UCSD.

What are the cons and pros of transferring in my situation?

I know UC intercampus transfers are extremely difficult, anyone have any tips other than getting as close to 4.0 as possible?

Are there any other schools I should consider?

And if anyone has done an intercampus UC transfer can you please explain what your situation was and how it turned out for you?

Thanks.

Hi, yes, the pros are, UCLA and/or UC Berkeley has a much greater reputation on EE. The con is it will require MUCH mroe studying and hard work. If you can handle it, I would encourage you to transfer.

I think it'd be easier for us to list pros and cons if you told us why you actually want to transfer. Hopefully it's not simply "prestige" because you might end up being disappointed by what you find if you change schools. Also, USC and epic debt for teh lose. Stay at a UC at least.

its not the prestige. It just seems to me, if i can make it, UCLA or Cal would give me a much stronger foundation and better preparation for a career. And also I assume those schools would have better internship opportunities and such than Davis does. Correct me if im wrong.

And ya money would definitely be a con to USC lol.

^^
I don't think engineering at any of those schools would be significantly more rigorous than what you have/will experience(d) at Davis. Surely more people have heard of Cal, UCLA, and USC but engineering is tough wherever you go and I would expect Davis to produce an engineer comparable, if not equal, to an engineer trained from any other university (even the aforementioned ones).

Also, try asking in the engineering majors forum.
