Electrical Engineering - UCLA or UC Berkeley

Hi guys,

I am a new transfer from a CC.

I got admission from both UCLA and UCB for Electrical Engineering.

Now I have to decide to pick one for SIR but I really don't know how.

Personally, I like the UCLA campus better, and I love the weather in LA. Also, I have a not-too-small network in UCLA.

For UCB, they have better reputation (the title sounds better in Asian family like mine). They also offer me $7000 gift aid per year.

However, I don't like the weather in Bay area and the surrounding of the campus... And Berkeley only has EECS instead of pure EE like in UCLA.

I prefer hardware than software (I want to do fiber), not sure which school is better on this. I heard that UCB has more job opportunities to offer since it locates near the Silicon Valley.

Please give me some advice, thank you in advance!

Very easy decision to pick Berkeley, to me. Look for summer internships in LA, they will be delighted to have you. You can move to LA after graduation, or 1 to 2 years work experience.
