Electrical Engineering vs. Computer Engineering at GA Tech

I plan on attending GaTech next year and am having trouble deciding between electrical engineering and computer engineering. I took a lot of CS classes in high school and love programming and have little to no experience with electronics aside from minor DC circuits from AP Physics 1 but enjoy tinkering with microcontrollers like arduino or raspberry pi.

I like coding but really would like having an understanding of the hardware and systems underneath at an electrical level. Also, I’m not too interested in the other, theoretical aspects of Comp Sci, just the programming really, so I am thinking to either major in EE or CE with a minor in CS.

Do you believe an EE + CS would be a better combo in terms of breadth and ability to pick a variety of both hardware and software jobs (i.e. get a programming job, hardware design job, robotics)? I feel like if I did CE + CS, I’m not getting the whole pie of knowledge and that bothers me.

My recommendation is EE+CS, b/c some of the courses of CE overlapped with EE.
