Electrical Engineering

Hi I am currently finishing my fall semester of sophomore year and I am an electrical engineering major. I was hoping there would some 3rd or 4th yr EE majors that can tell me what they think of EE programs once you get into your major based classes like EE 1 2 and 3.

Graduating in the spring in EE. Do you have any questions on specific classes?

“EE 1 2 and 3” is meaningless without context, such as the school you are attending or at least the nominal content of those courses.

As an EE grad I can tell you that at my school (PSU), the difference between years is astonishing. During your first two years it is almost all prerequisites and general education. Your junior year is spent learning the core curriculum of EE and is the toughest year in the whole program - the 5 required courses are all very difficult, and I think most people wind up having to retake at least one of them. You senior year is more relaxed because you are taking courses towards one or more specialties that you have chosen - if you choose well, they should be classes you both enjoy and are talented in, so that year is not too bad.

What else do you want to know?

That helps a lot thanks. I go to NY Maritime Military College I will be a junior next fall and I have to take classes such as: Network analysis, Electronics I, Power electronics, Electronics 2 electric machines and electromagnetic fields. I don’t know if you can tell me anything about those, my school is unique so it might not be the typical curriculum.
Next semester I will only be in one class that start to get into my more major based classes and that is Electrical Engineering I.
So I really just wanted to know how grueling the curriculum gets once your in actual major based classes. I am a little worried because my school is a little more intense academically. I take at least 18 credits a semester.
