Electromechanical engineering

Hey guys I was just wondering what you guys know about Electromechanical engineering. I know it is a combination of electrical and mechanical engineering, but I would want to now what type of career options I would have once I had this degree.

robots, controls, electromagnetic suspensions, cool things like that

I have never heard of an Electromechanical engineering program. What I think you would have to do is major in ME, and find a school that offers electives in the area that you intersted in, such as a mechatronics class.

From Wikipedia: Mechatronics (or Mechanical and Electronics Engineering) is the combination of mechanical engineering, electronic engineering and computer engineering
Mechatronics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know the Mechanical Engineering Department at my school offers a specialization in Mechatronics.

If you're looking more at the electrical side, I'm taking a course in Electromechanical Systems next Fall, so maybe I'll be able to tell you more about it at that time. I'm in Electrical Engineering and specializing in Power Engineering, by the way.

Hey Canadian_EE I see that this is your first post. Welcome to the community!!! Thanks for your help.

I just got accepted into a school that offers a major in electromechanical engineering. I just wanted to know what type of career I would have.
