Electronics + Water? :(

Well today my mp3 player a creative labs muvo fell into the sink while the water was running and got pretty wet before I took it out. Now it wont work :(.... This has actually happened before lol never mind that though. Previously I allowed it to dry for a couple hours and then it would work but now it won't :( its been about 6 hours already. Is it dead doctor? :( I was told to open it and dry but i cant open it without breaking it :( Any recommendations?

I hope theres something I can do I've got several assignment saved on there :'(

can you spell iPod?

you might give it a few days, actually...it could take that long for the water to evaporate from the "closed" areas. My not-waterproof watch got wet once, and that's about how long it took for the water to disappear from the case. Good Luck! :)

i have the same kind of mp3 player. it's not an ipod.

maybe hazmat was saying, here's his excuse to go buy an ipod?

but if you had an iPod...........

Yeah I'm probably gonna get an ipod sometime in the future but I have several large projects saved on my mp3 I can't just start over :(

can't isn't the operative word when you have a soggy data device. The next sop will be your tears once you realize that a smaller device would have saved the day. Jump Drive..........keychain.....sushi.

Yeah, I agree just let it dry for a couple of days.

Jump Drive..........keychain.....sushi.

Just what the Easter Bunny ordered.......me thinks you should as for one in a pretty colored basket with some chocolate eggs. hehehe

It's never a good idea to keep assignments on one device like this... why wouldn't you also keep a copy on your computer or email?

He wanted to listen to it while riding the bus to school...........

Yay, I'm glad to say that my mp3 is now working once a gain and as I type this everything is being backed up to my hard drive and is also being saved on my email lol

Wow, thats fantastic news!!! Hopefully you've learned your lesson now and to always back up your data....always.

It's always great when stuff starts working. I just wish my CD burner would do the same. Well congrats FrddyGV. So... anybody know a lot about CD/DVD burners?
