Elementary Education Major at NE

Hi, All! Does anyone know anything about the Education majors at Northeastern? I know there is a minor in Ed and then a Masters option, but I am unsure if their program is run the same way as other colleges...will they graduate with a BA/BS but not able to teach unless they apply for masters? Will they be certified to teach after 4 years? Any insights would be wonderful!

I am not super familiar with the education program, but I have a few friends who are in it. Usually I think this runs as the 5 year option, during which time I think you do student teaching as one of your co-ops. (I also think there was a specific requirement for what one of the other co-ops has to be, but I’m not sure.) Pretty sure the goal is to be certified upon graduation, assuming you pass all the necessary tests and such.

Awesome! Then it does seem like other colleges we looked at, so it’s still one of our top schools. Thanks!

I would contact the education program, to confirm, though, because I don’t have all the information and don’t want to mislead you!
