ELEPHANT Now that I have your attention, CHANCE FOR FIRST TIER I'll chance back :)

I live in California and go to a pretty big public school with about 3200 students.
GPA UW: 4.0
Weighted: 4.5
SAT: 2170
R+M = 1470
SAT II:
Math II: 800
Chemistry: 800

School Stuff:

-I am on the Track Team, first chair of my orchestra on cello, and have taken spanish for 4 years
-Since Freshman Year I have only taken Honors or AP Classes, and taken 5 classes at local College and received college credit (got A's), right now I am taking another college class, Physics, at UCLA for a summer (by application time I will have six college classes), by senior year I will have taken 6 AP's (the reason why it is so little, is because my school doesn't let you take a lot starting junior year)
-I have toured with my orchestra to San Francisco and New York
-I myself have been in several cello competitions where I received "Superior" scores and I was one of the few people from my school who flew out to San Jose to participate in an honors orchestra where the best in the state come together to perform several orchestral pieces
-I have played with my orchestra at Disney Hall in Los Angeles, and The Lincoln Center in New York
-I am the President of the UNICEF club at my school, and raised over $2,000 dollars for building wells and water pumps in Africa and also we have had over 20 fundraisers for donating money for those in Haiti, Japan, and Chile
-I am also part of the Medical/Doctors Club at my school (I want to become a surgeon)
-As well as being on the track team I also co-coach with the Head Coach and I take groups of kids-teach them all the basics of running and help them out at track meets
-Creative Writing Club
-I hope this will be good for me: I am working with someone, he has a PhD in chemical engineering, I'll just call him Dr. X because I don't want to put his name online, anyways, I was chosen among the AP Chem students to work/ intern with Dr. X, who works at the Aerospace Corporation, and works with nanotechnology and a bunch of other stuff which I won't begin to describe here, so basically, I will be interning for him and we are working on a new project together

-Harvard

I already have my safeties.

Thank You! and I will Chance Back!

You’re EC’s are outstanding! As are your test scores, but a 22-2300 SAT won’t hurt your chances.
Matches- JHU, WashU, Pomona, Amherst, Brandeis, NYU, Northwestern
Low Reach- Columbia, Stanford, UPenn, Dartmouth
Reach- Harvard, Yale (Simply because of how selective they are, not because of your stats)
I don’t know much about the UC’s.
Have you thought about writing your essay? I could see a killer essay talking about coming from Iran and adapting to American society. Good Luck!

bumpbumpbump

You’re probably going to want to increase your sat scores or take the act to improve your chances at Harvard/Yale, but you certainly have a shot at these schools with your current stats (though like everyone else I’ll tell you that these schools are reaches for everyone). You are also a reach (but a good candidate) for Brown- once again because of its extrememly low acceptance rate. You have a pretty good shot at Dartmouth, Columbia, and Stanford. While I don’t know too much about the UC schools individually I’d say you have a pretty good chance at getting into at least 75% of them. You are a match for Northwestern, WashU, Amherst College, and NYU.

Chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1167386-chance-me-unc-uva-duke.html</a></p>

Great ECs, great Stats. I’ll jut go straight to it then.

-UC’s: Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, Berkeley - should be all safeties (berkeley: low match with those stats)
-NYU - match
-Dartmouth College - reach (it’s an ivy)
-Brandeis University - no idea, sorry man.
-Amherst College - not knowledgeable of LACs
-Pomona College - not knowledgeable of LACs
-Brown University - reach (ivy)
-Northwestern University - low reach
-Columbia University - reach (ivy)
-Yale University - high reach
-WashU - match
-UPenn - mid reach
-Johns Hopkins University - mid reach?
-Stanford - high reach (as it is for mostly everyone)
-Harvard - high reach

Please keep in mind that I follow the mindset that most of the ivies / top institutions are reaches for everyone!

Your ECs are good, just have great essays. Seems like you have a bit to talk about anyways. Those essays can really take you places, especially with your stats/ecs.

If those hours are all recorded on your transcript as community service, you’re going to get into a lot of these schools.

Don’t count too much on income/parent background. Try to get in on your accord (I’m sure you can)

-UC’s: Easy match
-NYU - match
-Dartmouth College - reach
-Brandeis University - don’t know
-Amherst College - reach
-Pomona College - low reach
-Brown University - reach
-Northwestern University - low reach (get a better SAT)
-Columbia University - reach
-Yale University - high reach
-WashU - match
-UPenn - reach
-Johns Hopkins University - reach?
-Stanford - high reach (Get a better SAT, mind-blowing essays)
-Harvard - high reach

I would suggest applying to Rice. It could be a good match for you, and it’s an amazing school. Also USC.

Good luck!

-Harvard -mid/high reach

I’d say you’ll get into most of the non-Ivies, if not all of them. Yale and Columbia are two of the hardest Ivies to get into, and in my opinion, harder than even Harvard. Stanford is just about impossible in my opinion. You’ll probably get into some of the lower Ivies like Brown, Dartmouth, and UPenn. Better chance at those then Columbia, Yale, or Harvard. Out of Columbia, Yale, Harvard, and Stanford, your best shot is at Harvard. Just my opinion.

Chance back please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1165818-chance-incoming-senior-fordham-nyu-barnard-ivies.html</a></p>

I forgot to mention that I am the president of a gardening project at our school that is working with city officials and members of board of education in my county to incorporate gardening into my district’s curriculum and the community.

Bumpbumpbump

UCs- Match
NYU- Match

Pomona- Not Sure
Brown- Reach
Northwestern- Low Reach
Columbia- Reach
Yale- Reach
WashU- Match
UPenn- Reach
John Hopkins- Low/Mid Reach
Stanford- Reach
Harvard- Reach

For Ivies, your SAT is a little low. However, you have a great GPA and decent ECs (but nothing that stands out too much). Definitely work hard on your essays to make yourself unique from everyone else. But I think you may have a shot at some of the lower Ivies.
