Eligibility Index for College of Engineering CSU

How do I get my college of engineering EI for CSU. My gpa is a 3.91 and my SAT is a 1480 (750 Math and 630 EBRW). Can someone please calculate my COE EI.!? And after I find my COE EI where can I see the impaction threshold for my engineering major? Thanks

Sorry I meant 730 EBRW

Which CSU? Which specific engineering major?

Is your GPA calculated using the method at https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/ ?

Only SJSU and CSULB have a different EI for Engineering. SJSU is the only CSU that publishes their EI’s by major.

http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultsfreshmen/index.html

SJSU’s Engineering EI:

  1. To calculcate the COE impaction index, you will need to calculate a total SAT score (math and EBRW) in the following way:

a. For SAT scores from a test date after March 1, 2016:

[(SAT Math * 3) + (EBRW)]/2 = COE total SAT score

b. For SAT scores from a test date prior to March 1, 2016:

[(SAT Math * 3) + (Critical Reading)]/2 = COE total “old” SAT score - this scores will need to be concorded from the old total SAT to the redesigned SAT total (Capped weighted CSU GPA X 600) + SAT Critical Reading + (2 X SAT Math)
———
CSULB’s STEM EI:
(CSU capped weighted GPA x 600) + (SAT CR + (2 x SAT Math)

———
For Cal Poly SLO, they use MCA points. See post #52

http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/1694769-confused-about-mca-score.html

Finally the rest of the CSU’s use the regular EI:

(Capped weighted CSU GPA X800) + ( SAT Math + EBRW).

Based on your posted stats, you look like a competitive applicant for all the CSU’s. SLO will be a Reach depending upon specific Engineering major.

Best of luck.

How to calculate with ACT

@jas104: 2 ways to calculate your ACT EI.

(CSU capped weighted GPA x 200) + (ACT composite x10)

Or Take your ACT Composite score, convert in into an SAT equivalent and calculate.
(CSU capped weighted GPA x 800) + (SAT Math + EBRW)

SJSU has a different calculation for Engineering applicants:::::::
[(SAT Math * 3) + (EBRW)]/2 = COE total SAT score
Once you have a total SAT score from step 1 above, put that total SAT score in to the CSU eligibility index equation to calculate the COE impaction index for SJSU:
[SAT Score Total + (GPA * 800)] = COE impaction index

For ACT scores:
[(MATH * 3) + (the average of SCIE,ENGL,READ)]/4 = COE ACT comp score - this score will have to be concorded to the redesigned SAT total using concordance tables

CSULB STEM EI:::::
(CSU Capped Weighted GPA X 600) + SAT Critical Reading + (2 X SAT Math).
