so my acceptance thingy says i'm "eligible for the College's Honors program." does this mean i'm in or can apply for it??

It means you can apply. As long as you meet those minimum number requirements on their website, you're just about guaranteed into the program...

thank you. haha now that i think about it dumb question. still im giddy that im actually in.

Is there any chance of getting into honors if I didn't get the "eligible" bit on my acceptance letter? Any appeals system? Or how about after freshman year?

I think they send notifications if your gpa was above a certain point or if you class rank was above a certain percentage for your high school. Anyone can apply for the honors program w/ or w/o that notice to apply. You just need to go to their website (which I currently don't know but maybe someone else could post it up), and they should tell your the requirements to get in (I think its either a combination of minimum SAT score and gpa, or solely based on class rank).

If you're an engineer, there's no honors for engineers, but anyone can take the honors classes (you just won't get the perk of priority enrollment since you have to be in the honors program to get that perk).

Here's the general site if you want to look at the qualifications (the link should be on the left side somewhere):

Thanks jyancy!

That makes me feel a lot better. At least I have a chance to apply.
