Eligible GPA but poor grades? HElp!

Okay so I'm planning on applying to the University of Arizona.

My GPA is a 2.77 and SAT is 1500 and tons of EC's

University of Arizona had a 23% applying students that had GPAs ranging from 2.5-2.9

as seen here:

College Search - University of Arizona - U of A - At a Glance

My GPA is eligible, but I'm scared I won't get accepted because I got 6 D's and 1 F

But I made all those classes up at a different high school and got credit for it.

ANd I called 3 days ago and they said they only look at the better grade.

What do you guys think my chances are? Thx :)

If they only look at the better grades, then what are you worrying about?

Can you pay the out-of-state costs?

Yeah, I’m gonna do AF ROTC and my parents helped save up a good amount of money.

Pretty expensive though, 20k just because of out of state.

Oh and I’m worrying because on the website it said more than 2 deficiencies is not allowed.

Even though I know kids that got in with worth grades than me, but they’re in-state.

Do you really think you can get an AF ROTC scholarship with a 2.7 GPA and a 1500 SAT?

AF ROTC scholarship with those stats will not fly (pun intended).

In fact, this year it wouldn’t have even gotten you an Army ROTC Scholarship. Lots of kids with much better stats without Army ROTC scholarships this year.

Recommendation - Call a recruiting officer at the school and ask for the stats of this year’s incoming scholarship class. Working with the actual facts would be a good thing.

Oh I didn’t know they accepted you based on stats.

My friend had like a 2.52 and he got into the Marines ROTC so I assumed you could join any ROTC

Well okay anyone else have answers?

^^^
You can join any ROTC provided you meet their published minimums (check their ROTC sites) and the detachment finds you acceptable. However, joining ROTC does not mean:
A. You will get any money (scholarship)
B. You’ll ever be a commissioned officer. You will need to be contracted to become a commissioned officer and that will depend heavily on how well you did in high school or your college GPA and major.
Good luck!

Alright cool.

Any answers on my real question though? I still haven’t gotten a direct answer.
