No, that’s definitely not one of the critiques. Every licensing exam tests things you’ve already learned, that’s kind of their point. You might be misunderstanding the point about how most medical schools offer their own version of step 2 CS that is both more rigorous than the real deal AND provides students with detailed feedback on how to improve their clinical skills.
Yes, and pretty much every single one of them failed their institution’s version of it at least once too (assuming their institution does one). Hence the reason that CS doesn’t add value and why they propose that offering an in-house 2CS exam should be required for LCME accreditation.
