so i could get recruited possibly to help with admissions. any schools where the average is like 80 or so?

are you looking for DI, DII, or DIII?

this may help … [Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings](http://www.golfweekrankings.com/ellington/default.asp?t=mt)

One of the better guides with all the stats you need to make comparisons and learn what players at school’s do is the PING AMERICAN COLLEGE GOLF GUIDE which unfortunately you have to pay for to get it.

If you are male, an 80 average is likely too high for any Div I team but could possibly make some Div 3 teams, assuming that is an average in tournament conditions and not what you get just playing with your buddies at the local course. Also, particularly for men’s golf, having an 80 average (or about a 6 to 7 handicap) is a big difference from having an 82 average (or about an 8 to 9 handicap)

For women’s golf, averaging 80 in tournament conditions could make most if not all Div I teams and virtually any Div 3 teams.

yeah i’ve played in one tournament and shot a 77, which was the 5 lowest score out of a field around 80. but i know colleges like to see a lot of scores and consistency and im too lazy to actually sign up and participate in more.

If you are not a high school team player and don’t have tournament play, the chances of being recruited by any team are slim to none and the chances of your unconfirmable average score making any impression at all are the same. Those with with little or no tournament experience have a chance of joining a team only as a walk-on where you get to try out after you are there if the school does that.

i am on school team but it seems like coaches generally disregard those scores

If you want to get recruited your tournament average should be comparable with that of the top 3 players on the team.

uchicago doesnt have a golf team does it? tufts/cmu seem like it might possibly be attainable

do you actually want to golf in college?

im indifferent. i’ll be happy either way. im going to do some tournaments this summer. anyone know around what i should be shooting to have a chance at recruitment with the ivies?
