What state are you from?

Has anyone else received letters?

who hasn’t recieved a letter yet?
I haven’t

Oh well, my D got a letter today saying her application was not chosen for the national scholarship…I wonder about any of the others…it didn’t say of course. oh well…1 down 18 others to go…

;-)

giftedgothic: I’m from Michigan.

Loony2nz: I can’t believe her app has went through states already.

Loony2nz: If you don’t mind me asking, what part of Florida are you from?

I have received NO updates from this scholarship at all.

In Ohio, btw.

I got a letter! I moved onto the state level!!

Congrats, OhBoi!

Looony2nz, you found out already about national finalists?? I thought emails do not get sent until February 1st?

Yea! D got letter today. $1000 state level. Does that mean she moves to nationals? The letter didn’t say anything about that.

As far as I know, if you moved onto states, that’s where you’re currently out. We’re supposed to find out by Feb. 1 if we moved onto nationals.

^ You mean she’s out because she received money at the state level, right?
My letter just said I moved on to states.

yes, my daughter got a letter in the mail that said she was not chosen for a national scholarship. … … not an email, it came in the actual snail mail

Sorry, I meant “at” not “out”!

I’m from California and I received a letter about a month ago or so telling that I advanced through the district level and am now competing for state.

Did anyone from California receive money at the district level? Also, when do we hear from state?

if you make it as a national finalist, they contact you Feb 1 by e-mail.

I’m confused a little by this. So, it there was notification that a scholarship was received at the state level, is that the completion for that application? Or, do those winners from the state move on to the national competition? The letter didn’t mention anything about the national competition.

This is by far the most frustrating scholarship I have applied to. I sent an e-mail to our local lodge basically asking if I would get any communication about my status other than a possible notification on Feb. 1 for the national level. This is the vague response I got…

“I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I’m in the process of notifying the winners and returning the applications of the non-winners.
I am pleased to announce that name did win a local award. I will be sending you more details at a later date. You will also be invited to our annual banquet.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions at this time.”

So…did I get passed on to the state level? Ughh…

You probably went to districts. There, it would be decided if you went to states are not.

Here was the process for me:
Local - District - State

On February 1st, I will (hopefully) know whether or not my application has made it past the state level and onto nationals. If I make it onto nationals, I will be guaranteed $4,000.

I didn’t get any money from my local or district lodge.

I just got an email and a letter in the mail today! I’m advancing to the national competition and received a minimum of $4000 over four years ($1000/year). I guess MA decided to let its state finalists know early! :)
