What are the advantages/disadvantage of both?

Ellicot seems like it'd be more social, but the location of Governor's seems better.

Also, how's the party scene in both?

it depends what your looking for?

if your looking for a more social environment, obviously go with ellicott. but if you like to study, etc a lot go with governor’s…

How big is the difference between the two? I’m trying to make sure I won’t get too carried away, I’ll want to be focusing a lot on academics so I don’t want to get too distracted.

How many students live at Governors?

And if it makes a difference, I’m going to be a freshman.

it sounds like you would be better suited living in governors.
it explains the difference in the packet that you should have received in your acceptance envelope- governors houses 800 students, and ellicott has 6 quads each with housing for 550 students.

It also is difficult to get assigned to governors, you needed to have your housing deposit in by the end of February, 1st of March. It seems to be preferred due to the close location to the college.

Governors is more quiet. Ellicot isn’t.

I’m in the Honors college so I guess I have “preferred” housing in Governor’s but from what I’m hearing its not guaranteed. I submitted by deposit a few weeks ago, how much of a chance do you think I have of staying in Governors?

ellicott is cleaner and spacious. governors is tiny and close to the school…but you have to walk to school no matter what. even though there is a snow storm. on the other side… there is a shuttle for ellicott
