Elliott School OR GWU Quantitative Science Scholars program

So I applied to GW as a science major, but transferred into Elliott after getting accepted. I got an email today saying I got into the quantitative sciences program ( I'm assuming they're handing out the spots left vacant by students who chose to enroll elsewhere). I would really like to study IA, but I hear this program is very, very exclusive. Sooooo too good of opportunity to pass up? Worth transferring back to Columbian for? Know anything about the program?

Your indecision is disconcerting but not uncommon in an incoming freshman. I would recommend you find a parant, school counselor, or mentor and have a nice long talk about where you “see yourself” in 5, 10 years etc.

Once you do some serious soul-searching I think you’ll be able to answer your own dilemma.

However, I don’t think GW Admissions will kep switching you back and forth.

My 2-cents worth.

Good luck

Well I’m definitely staying in Elliott. I have no interest in research whatsoever. But I just want to know if the program is as prestigious as I’ve heard

hey zoidberg, so far, i have NOT found anyone else besides you who has been accepted into the Scholars in Quantitative and Natural Sciences Program. i would assume that this program is very prestigious. HOWEVER, take your time this summer to talk to an admissions counselor or someone who can help you make your choice on whether to transfer departments or not.

The email said to respond ASAP, so if I did want to transfer, I’d assume that I don’t have a lot of time to talk it over. But it is kinda cool to say you got accepted into the program =p
